Catch and area
Trawled in the Barents Sea, the Norwegian Sea, Skagerrak and the fjords year-round; the offshore fleet freezes on board, the coastal fleet lands fresh shrimp for cooking ashore.

Peeled shrimp are graded by count per kg, for example 90/120, 120/150, 150/250 and 250/350 pieces per kg; shell-on shrimp by count per kg as well.

Peeled IQF in bags inside cartons, commonly 5 kg; brine in buckets or pouches; shell-on in cartons or boxes.
